🌱 Our Impact & ESG report 2023 is out! 🌱
Currently, the world food system is responsible for 1/3 of global warming, 90% of deforestation, and in Europe 20% of food is wasted. We must urgently rethink how we eat and drink.
Since 2018 we have been investing in food brands, with a strong belief: future category-leading brands will be healthy and sustainable.
I. What have we achieved so far?
Our report will take you on our brands’ journey towards a better food system. Case studies include for example details about how:
40% of La Fourche clients benefit from a zero-waste delivery.
THIS’ products have a CO2 footprint 92% lower than beef.
Our 4 pet food companies are revolutionizing the pet food market with healthy, nutritious, perfectly proportioned, clean-label and natural products.
II. How have we achieved it?
We select best-in-class companies that are “impact native”.
But as there is always room for improvement, we also provide clear guidance about what a sustainable company should look like. We help our companies reach that goal by implementing with them a sustainability strategy and organizing various workshops and trainings throughout the year.
As a result, most companies have sustainability embedded in their DNA. For example:
75% measure their carbon emissions
80% use sustainable packaging
85% measure their employee engagement
III. What about our own sustainability strategy?
It is very important for us to implement what we preach. For example, since 56% of our portfolio are B-Corp companies (or waiting to be certified), it was normal for us to become a certified B-Corp as well. Which we are proud to have achieved this year!
